Kiet Ngong Community Guesthouse

The community guesthouse is set in a beautiful location overlooking the expansive Kiet Ngong wetlands just past a small enclave of houses on the edge of Kiet Ngong village The guesthouse has two common rooms with a total of 10 single beds. If your group is large, the villagers can also arrange for more beds on the veranda. The rooms have fans, 24-hour electricity and mosquito netting. There is a common bathroom and shower room. A local food set can be arranged at a reasonable price as well.

Management and Sharing of Benefits
The community guesthouse is managed by 27 families. Each family takes turns working at the guesthouse each day. The guesthouse group includes families who have low income in order to spread benefits to the poorer groups of people in the village. The group elects two people to be in charge, who are responsible for maintaining the guesthouse and coordinating work between the members. Most of the money that you pay goes directly to the families working at the guesthouse. Money is divided equally between all of the families at the end of each month. A small amount of money is given to the head of the guesthouse group, some money is put aside for maintenance and repair, and a small portion is put into the village development fund.
